As Microsoft products and technology evolve, so do the product terminology and offerings. Some product names are slightly changed whilst others are completely replaced. Branding is always aligned with strategy and long-term goals. Below I have tried to highlight some of the most important Microsoft product name changes which have occurred in the last 8 years and have categorized them by solution area.
